DESCRIPTION

Celebrate the famous people, art subjects and famous monuments in Italy through art! During this 2.5 hours workshop, also you will learn more about Italian culture and produce an artwork that is centred on a famous Italian icon, themes vary for each workshop. 

 

You will be guided on sketching, composition, using ink techniques to draw and shade, as well as use mixed media to add splashes of colours to your modern pop art. Participants will be enriched by this workshop and bring home their own artwork. Suitable for beginners or those with some experience in art.

DESCRIPTION

Get acquainted with the Italian culture and its most popular icons and learn to create your own Linocut prints. This workshop is a fun hands-on introduction to linocutting, a popular printmaking technique, used by artists such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. 

 

You will be guided on sketching your design, transferring the image to the lino blocks, and learning the basics of Linocut carving and printing. Subjects can be Moka pot, Vespa etc (themes vary for each workshop). Participants will bring home their own carved Linocut stamp, 1 Art Poster (A4) and 2 Cards (B5). Suitable for beginners or those with some experience in art. 

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Carlyn Law is an ex-student at APICS! She is an artist at heart since young. Born in Singapore, she has studied art in college and is well-versed in various media such as watercolour, gouache, acrylic, ink and linocutting. Besides art, she is passionate about food, nature, travelling and in particular the Italian language and culture. She has studied Italian for two years and travelled extensively around Italy. Carlyn is thrilled to combine her two passions - art and Italy - for the art workshops at APICS.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Sara is Italian, from Como. She holds a diploma from Arts high school of Como and a diploma from the renowned Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan, with Major in Painting. She has worked as a professional Decorator for more than 12 years in Italy, Spain, France and Germany and here in Singapore she has just started using her talent as pastellist in some International School projects.  For her “at home” arts works Sara especially loves watercolours and acrylic paint and she is restlessly creating super colorful panels and drawings with her son.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Eleonora is Italian,  from Genoa, mum of two girls. She got her degree in Italian literature and history, with a major in Medieval history and holds a PhD in Medieval Documents. She has worked in Italy, as University researcher and Historical Library curator. and in Asia as a teacher and writer. She loves exploring History and its secrets with the kids, as she believes History has has many lessons to teach and may become a thrilling life-long passion.
